Freeport Community Church of the Nazarene

Who are we?

A grace-filled community — embracing, empowering, engaging.

I

Embrace

A warm and welcoming environment intentional about fostering authentic community. Our interactions are characterized by grace — and our goal is to embrace persons of all faiths and persons of no faith, drawing them into communion with God and each other.

II

Empower

We are committed to the holistic empowerment of every member — equipping the saints for the work of ministry and the edifying of the body of Christ. The Bible is our foundation; we teach it in a way that is life-giving and transformative.

III

Engage

Intentional about ensuring everyone is fully engaged in living out our faith in meaningful ways that impact our communities — helping individuals find and fulfill their unique purpose. Freeport Community is a serving community.

Rev. Oral Walcott

Senior Pastor

Rev. Oral Walcott has been serving as lead pastor of the Freeport Community Church of the Nazarene since December 2018.

A native of the beautiful island of Barbados, Pastor Oral served in several roles on the Barbados District of the Church of the Nazarene, including National Youth President and National Youth Camp Director. Since migrating to New York, he has served as Youth Pastor, Pastor of Discipleship and Special Events, and Executive Pastor.

In 2010, Rev. Oral was ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene and currently serves as chairman of the Board of Ministry of the Metro New York District, coordinating the credentialing of new ministers and candidates for ordination. He is also a member of the board of directors of Healing For The Soul Empowerment Network and has previously served as a trustee of Ascend Charter Schools, a network of schools serving over 6,000 students in central Brooklyn.

Pastor Oral is married to his lovely wife Nicole, a licensed mental health clinician specializing in addictions treatment. They have been married for over 20 years and are the proud parents of two wonderful daughters, Nia and Zoe.

As our pastor, Rev. Oral is committed to equipping the church to be a conduit of God's grace in the Freeport community and beyond — a place where everyone is embraced, empowered, and engaged.
